CLAIRE DOROTIK MA, MFT

          Claire Dorotik MA, MFTI holds a BS in Kinesiology, and an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy, and has been in the field of physical health and wellness for the past 11 years.  Her experience includes designing and implementing  wellness programs for corporations such as Nokia, designing individualized rehabilitation programs for West Coast Soft Tissue and La Jolla Physical Therapy, designing marathon training programs, bimochanics consulting for United States International University and Azuza Pacific Women’s volleyball teams, and contributing author for Trail Runner, and Her Sports magazines, in the field of exercise and mood.  Claire also teaches continuing education courses for International Sport Science Association and is the creator of the “Client Centered Approach To Personal Training”.  For the past 4 years, Claire has specialized in the in the area of wellness programs for the recovery population, and has created programs for Miracle House Recovery Center, Tender Life Maternity Home, Prototypes Women’s Center in Ventura, Ca.  Claire also holds a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and specializes in helping trauma, abuse and eating disorder clients return to balanced and healthy functioning. 

 

          Claire also specializes in equine assisted psychotherapy in facilitating corrective emotional experiences for clients, and helping them to achieve a better understanding of themselves.  Claire has developed an equine assisted psychotherapeutic approach that is effective in helping trauma, abuse and eating disorder clients achieve emotional and physical balance.  This approach has been utilized by many recovery centers as they are recognizing the unique way in which horses can facilitate powerful healing experiences for clients.  Claire has provided equine assisted psychotherapy programs for Creative Care Recovery in Malibu, Ca., and The Canyon Recovery Center in Malibu, Ca.
