EQUINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY
Equine assisted psychotherapy is a
unique way for clients to have a corrective emotional experience through the
relationship with the horse. Using both
relational components and physiological components clients will gain an
awareness of themselves as horses have a unique way of identifying with
unrecognized needs within humans.
Clients will have an opportunity to work through these needs through the
relationship with the horse. All of the
horses used for this program are competition horses and have all been
specifically selected for their unique gifts and talents, ranging from
overcoming trauma, extreme protective nature, and youthful exuberance. This treatment modality is effective for the
recovery population, relational issues, mood disorders, eating disorders, and
adjustment and developmental issues.
Equine psychotherapy is offered in both individual and group formats.
